How To Make A Survival Kit In A Tin

Survival Kit

You never know when disaster might strike – whether that disaster is a minor cut or scrape or something as major as getting lost in the woods.

While it may seem like quite the undertaking to prepare for any kind of disaster, you can actually help boost your chances of survival in any situation through the creation of a survival kit in a tin!

Prep Your Tin

A portable survival kit is a perfect way to make sure you’re prepared for anything.

To make your kit, first start by finding a tin. From there, you’ll want supplies such as aluminum foil, whistles, first aid materials, matches, and batteries to add to the tin. Make sure that you’re sourcing things that can comfortably fit in the tin without it falling open.

Other good items to add to the tin include:

  • Pencils
  • Paper
  • Tape
  • Safety pins
  • Chicken or beef stock cubes
  • A Swiss Army Knife
  • A Compass
  • Parachute cord
  • Ibuprofen
  • Lighters

In packing your tin, you’ll want to consider any number of situations in which you might need supplies that are otherwise hard to come by.

Make Your Tin Accessible

Of course, your survival kit is no good if you don’t have it on you! If you have multiple supplies, you can actually make more than one survival kit and keep them in multiple places – from your car to your purse or backpack!

Make sure that you put your kit in a place that you’ll remember should the time come to use it.

Replenish Your Tin Regularly

Another thing to remember is to make sure your tin is fully stocked with items you might need. Every few months, change out or add items to your tins in order to make sure they’re in good working order.

Be Prepared For Anything

With your emergency tin, you’ll be able to tackle any kind of situation! Whether you’re surviving in the woods or are living through a bad storm, your tin survival kit will help see you through!
