Start With Your Basic Health
In order to prevent bacterial infection, you’ll first want to start with your overall health. Think about the kinds of food you eat, whether or not you drink enough water, and even how much sleep you’re getting.
Each of these things is incredibly important to a healthy, fully-functioning body. If you’re not giving your body the nutrients and care it needs, then it will be that much more difficult to protect yourself against bacterial infections!
Hygiene Is Key
You should also be taking your hygiene – and the cleanliness of others around you – very seriously. You should be washing your hands frequently, including before and after using the bathroom, preparing food, or playing with a pet.
When it comes to washing your hands, you don’t want to skimp on the scrubbing. Don’t just rinse; make sure you’re using warm water and a good amount of soap. Rub your hands together for 20-30 seconds before rinsing, and then fully dry your hands.
Hygiene doesn’t just refer to your body, though. If someone who is living or working with you is sick, take care to sanitize doorknobs, drawer handles, and any other place they may have touched. This will help prevent the spread of the bacteria that are making them sick!
