How To Prevent Earwax Buildup

Prevent Earwax Buildup

Earwax buildup can be annoying at best and can cause hearing loss at worst.

Each and every one of us can be affected by earwax blockages at different points in our lives. Not to worry, though – you can prevent large amounts of earwax by keeping your ears clean and taking good care of your ear canals!

Regularly Clean Your Ears

We all know how important regular hygiene is, but its’ often easy to overlook our ear canals. Even if we’re washing behind our ears, that doesn’t mean we’re actually doing anything for the inside of them!

If you’re the kind of person who frequently deals with earwax buildup, consider using a few drops of water in each ear in order to soften the wax that’s building up. This will help you easily clean out your ear canals and make it more difficult for large blockages to occur.

Don’t want to use regular water? That’s okay, too! There are plenty of over-the-counter earwax softening solutions that you can buy at your local pharmacy. Follow the directions for these products and use them to help keep your ears clean.

Keep Your Ears Impact-Free

There are several things that we do every day that can actually cause earwax to buildup in our ear canals. Listening to music through earbuds that are pushed in too far or using cotton-tips in your ears can make it difficult for earwax to fall out on its own.

Though your ears are actually self-cleaning, if you’re putting plugs into them too often you can negatively impact the self-cleaning process.

This doesn’t mean that you need to give up your earbuds altogether, though. Instead, just consider using them less often or putting them into your ears gently rather than pushing them in.

Take Care Of Your Hearing

By regularly cleaning your ears and taking care not to push things into them, you can prevent potentially painful or infection-inducing earwax blockages!
