How To Survive A Nuclear Attack

Survive A Nuclear Attack

Nuclear attacks may seem like the kind of thing that only happens in post-apocalyptic sci-fi movies, but they really can happen in real life.

Should a nuclear attack happen, you’ll need to be prepared both during and after the attack in order to survive. Thankfully, there are ways that you can start prepping today in order to help you survive just about any kind of nuclear attack that might hit your city or town!

Get Yourself Ready Today

Planning ahead is the best way for you to prepare for a nuclear war. You’ll want to make sure you have a safe room either in your basement or in your yard for you and your family to shelter in should an attack occur.

In that safe room, you will need to have access to a number of supplies. If nuclear warfare is going on, you won’t want to leave the shelter. For this reason, it’s important to make sure you have enough food and water for at least three days.

You should also have both water bottles and water jugs to make sure there’s enough water for everyone to drink while you’re sheltering.

Other supplies that you may want to have on hand include:

  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Books
  • Sleeping bags

Create An Evacuation Plan

In the event of a nuclear attack, you’ll want to have an evacuation plan that is accessible to all of your family members and takes into account any pets you may have.

Walk through the evacuation plan with your family members, pointing out the location of the safe room or nuclear shelter so that they can be sure to easily find it during a disaster.

Remind younger members of your family that though a nuclear attack will be scary, it’s important to remember and follow the directions of any evacuation plans you create.

Preparation Will Save Your Life

Nuclear attacks can be horrifying experiences to go through. However, the right amount of planning and preparation will help keep you and your family safe in even the worst nuclear disasters.
